Justin Hostynek is THE MAN behind Absinthe Films. For the first time ever, Absinthe held a New York City screening of its most recent endeavor, Neverland – an epic slice of flicks showcasing some of the world’s top snowboarders running all around the mountaintops of Europe, Canada and the United States. Featuring pro riders: Travis Rice, Kevin Pearce and Nicolas Muller.
The screening was held on the Lower East Side at Home Sweet Home – DIY style – complete with a handmade canvas screen thrown up on the bar’s back wall. Home Sweet Home is a local speakeasy-esque spot…I mean hey, Jack White from the White Stripes and The Dead Weather held a secret show there just a couple months ago. So, yeah, it’s a cool place by our standards.
Shop kids from BLADES and Special Sauce, the guys over at CCS, snowboard and skate reps from Circa, Forum and Special Blend and a slew of friends from the city’s snowboard community all came out for the evening. Nice to see that even within New York City’s concrete jungle, mountainous snowboarders are scattered everywhere!
