Paris: Damir Doma presented a collection for Spring/Summer 2015 that was extensive and varied in application. In the show notes, he cited New Order’s “Power, Corruption & Lies” album, and Audrey Hepburn carrying a fisherman’s net on the beach. This idea of a summer escape set the tone for a line up of clean cut pieces. Details were minimal but just enough to get the message across that this was about ease. A summer dress featured mesh insets, a sleeveless V-neck top sported contrast athletic ribbing with a metallic peplum while easy tunics and jacquard pieces instead of being buttoned, were tied with a simple strip through metallic grommets, as was a stand out piece – a halter neck dress that would have been fit to grace the beautiful Katherine. “I would like my woman to breathe a bit more,” Damir said backstage. Breathe, yes this was indeed a breath of fresh air.– Lizzy Bowring
