A clean, sharp and bold outing at Versace

Milan: Donatella Vesace presented a clean, sharp and bold outing for Pre-fall – “I love this look that is both simple and complex, with neat silhouettes that are full of luxurious Versace details” stated the designer on the press release. It was a new direction for the house where masculinity and sporty references mingled together. The results were convincing, polished and sexy. Houndstooth checks – the main motif throughout the collection – were blown-up to abstract dimensions, mixed with animal prints and geometric shapes, appearing on playful dresses, coats, knits, lean trousers and A-line skirts. Sporty knits were colour-blocked and cut close to the body giving a modern ‘modish’ vibe. Versace’s signature cocktail dresses played with asymmetry, with slashes held by metal or Swarovski crystal staple-like embellishments. A gleaming classic Versace look with a sleek, fresh spirit. – Diego Sanchez
