Milan: True to house codes, the Autumn / Winter collection at Jil Sander did not disappoint. It was refreshing to view a cohesive collection, from beginning to the closure from Rodolfo Paglialunga – this his second season. The minimalist approach ran throughout with a streamlined and modern ease. The palette was as modern as the graphic stripes and grids that and did not detract from the silhouttes. Navy, forest green, cobalt yellow pink, white were graphically juxtaposed, yellow with blue, green with navy, pink and black in turtleneck sweaters, fine layering pieces and dresses. Focus on the high hip prevailed throughout in perfectly tailored coats, dresses, skirts and wide cropped pants. Paglialunga also engineered geometric, diagonal stripes and grids on sweaters, slim wrap dresses through to the leather boots, even the fur coat was brightly colored graphically. Exquisite were the sheath dresses that had been strategically cut and pieced with tulip patterning and the slip dresses – so chic, embodying the modern ease that ran throughout this commercial collection.– Lizzy Bowring
