A 50s Flea

I recently found these amazing pictures of Chicago’s Maxwell Street flea market during the 1950s; the thought of what is in the piles of vintage clothing gives me heart palpitations. Besides my wishful thinking, the pictures show serious street fashion of the mid 50s chock full of denim, chambray and wonderfully layered work and sportswear. I love the graphic denim apron the lunching vintage clothing dealer is wearing. Thanks again to Kodachrome for these incredibly vivid, sixty-year-old snapshots.
