Everywhere we have looked over the last year there has been a nod to 80s football culture. The era that gave us both Madonna and Maradonna, has being resurrected on the big screen and on the shelves. Films like 2009s Awaydays and The Firm are literally paying homage to Thatcher era youth culture and the stylish nature of 80s sportswear. While the films are hardly in the running for this year Oscars they have spurred some great retro clothing happenings.
Fila Vintage – Matchday/Settanta Tracksuit Jacket
Sergio Tacchini – Split Star(Orion) Track Jacket
This season Everton FC teamed up with 80s icon Sergio Tacchini. The retro yet modern look borrows enough styling to garner authenticity, but still feels fresh and modern. A range of jackets, polos and additional accessories have been released and are available through Everton Direct.
