At WGSN we love seeking out graphic design inspo, and our latest obsession is classic 80s graphic design styling and colour combinations. So we loved discovering this collection of authentically reworked 80s rock and pop visuals by graphic designer Pablo Cánepa.
Cánepa, a talented graphic designer from Uruguay, cleverly uses 80s-inspired colour gradients and stark grid visuals to enhance these flashbacks to the past. Classic bold and basic typography enhances this over-the-top 80s-themed graphic language.
The graphic team’s favourite is the bold tiger skin flash and simple structural layout of the reworked Survivor’s 1982 classic, Eye of the Tiger.
