MILITARY SUBVERSION
Paris: Thom Browne sent a parade of military looks down the runway for S/S 14, working in classical references to the Royal Navy with captain’s hats and anchor motifs. Although his sharply tailored uniform jackets and mirrored aviators had a no-nonsense vibe, their masculinity was cleverly subverted by a-line silhouettes, frilly ankle socks, petticoats and even red lipstick.— Nina Stotler
