With fashion month in full swing, Polly Walters, Senior Editor of WGSN’s Fashion Feed, is back with the top trends to know from London.
After seasons of practical, comfort-first style being the main design driver, we’re loving the resurgence of decadence and frivolity. Our new trend, Let’s Party, sees bright colours, glitzy embellishments and occasion-worthy silhouettes put some much needed fun back into getting dressed up.
Now called out across three fashion month cities, amber-infused Ginger Biscuit needs to be on your radar. As seen at Roksanda, outerwear still remains the most common choice, but brands such as 16Arlington made a strong case for using this colour in partywear.
Dial up the volume to create dress silhouettes that are as easy to wear as they are statement-making. Emphasise volume via tiered, trapeze or XXL cuts and full sleeves, rendered in bold prints and colours to bring a joyful sensibility.

Interiors-inspired florals continued to dominate the catwalks in London, tapping into both our Nu Historics and Grandmother’s House trends. Look to vintage wallpaper and soft furnishings for authentic inspiration.
Previously called out in New York, off-kilter cutouts are the detail to watch for A/W 21. London designers got creative with negative space on everything from true knit tops to tailored trousers and subversively sexy partywear.
Tapping into our add-on-knits message, snoods emerged as the unexpected star of London Fashion Week. Fusing the desire for both comfort and protection, consider adding these into your soft accessories roster for A/W 21.
