The increasing integration of touch screen technology into our daily lives has made touch screen equipped gloves an emerging essential item for winter. With trend leaders like Opening Ceremony and Marc by Marc Jacobs pushing a more stylish design approach, we have selected our favourite pairs for this Winter.
Opening Ceremony use bioelectricity to allow users to click, scroll and tap whilst wearing the gloves. Silver threads are woven into the wool stripes, allowing the flow of electrical current on the screen.
Most designs focus on the thumb and forefinger for touchscreen use, Marc by Marc Jacobs places contrast knit openings on these areas creating a stylish design feature on striped knit long gloves. Muji use a conductive material interwoven into the thumb and forefinger, while Ugg have updated their shearling sheepskin gloves with inconspicuous grippers that allow easy manipulation of touchscreen. Echo have produced a wide range of ‘echo touch gloves’ that combine fashion and function pushing a quilted range of driving style gloves engineered for touch screen use.
