A new wave of artists are being inspired by the natural landscape of the US, exploring vintage signage, Americana styles and custom craft through their graphic designs. Here at WGSN our Print and Graphics team have selected their top 3 independents leading the look, get to know these names now.
1. Land Boys
Best mates Caleb Owen Everitt and Ryan Rhodes are based in Austin and have carved a name for themselves in the graphics world. Fascinated with symbolism and historical typography, their signature linear doodles bring found objects back to life. Their logo style designs have already graced collections at Patagonia, Deus Ex Machina and Nike.
2. Erika Duran
We love Erika Duran’s beautiful hand embroidered patches inspired by the desert and her West Texas hometown. From cowgirls to cactuses, her whimsical illustrations transform into sew-ons that are the perfect customisation for your denim jacket or backpack.
3. Fort Lonesome
Fort Lonesome create treasured heirlooms, describing themselves as “nomadic chainstitchers, wandering in the pursuit of thread-based storytelling”. With a love for all things craft, they create one-off jackets decorated with chainstitch embroidery. This talented team are certainly one to watch!
