The Active Team stopped by the 2011 NY Auto Show at the Javits Center last weekend to check out some new, and innovative, buzz-worthy cars and trucks. We were really pleased to see how many models were being “marketed” to the Active enthusiast, as a wide range of SUV’s and mid-sized cars, from Toyotas to Porsches, were adorned with roof and bike racks, as well as cargo carriers for water, moto and snowsports.
Jeep and Subaru were our top picks in the style and function department, ensuring a safe ride off-road and out-of-bounds. New models and special editions like the Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty Black Ops edition, were top notch.
For those looking to burn some rubber, the show also featured performance cars from the Formula 1, GT and WRC racing tracks. Really made us think about Ken Block (co-founder of DC’s) obsession with rally car racing.
