The Stylesight Team was invited to the 2010 Stoked Mentoring Awards and well, we couldn’t have been happier to attend such an awe inspiring event. The award ceremony was held in downtown New York City at Red Bull’s famed SOHO space where founder and creative director of MILK Studios, Mazdack Rassi, was honored for his philanthropic efforts with the organization.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the room during several of the speeches given during such a special evening. Many personal stories were shared with the room of over 200 people, about the affect that Stoked Mentoring has had on hundreds of kids.
To give a little background…Stoked Mentoring is a five-year-old non-for profit that empowers youth from underserved communities to achieve a more successful future through actions sports based activities. The original founders, Steve Larosiliere and (everyone’s favorite action sports personality) Sal Masekela, were in attendance and emceed the party. The guys continue to move the organization forward to helping young kids around the country achieve their personal goals.
Recently Stoked Mentoring also participated in raising money during the New York City Marathon where the Stylesight Team followed Stoked family member, professional snowboarder and FRENDS partner, Keir Dillion, throughout the race.
All we gotta say is…we’re STOKED on STOKED MENTORING!
