Rachel has broad market knowledge having contributed to WGSN’s News, Business & Strategy, Think Tank and Beauty directories.
Intimates & Swim
Based in London, Katie joined WGSN as Senior Intimates & Swim Editor after working for Stylesight on forecast reports for three years. Her in-depth knowledge of the intimates and swimwear market comes from working as a designer at esteemed retailers, including H&M in Stockholm, ASOS and La Senza.
Located in the Los Angeles office, Andrea is a seasoned journalist with an in-depth knowledge of the Americas’ consumer marketplace and mindset. As a member of the Think Tank team, she reports on consumer attitudes, lifestyles and emerging tribes, as well as produces WGSN's seasonal consumer forecast. She is also a member of the Macro Trends team.
As a senior consultant in the WGSN Mindset team, Vanessa develops and presents bespoke consulting projects that underpin how future trends impact brands and consumers. Vanessa is very passionate about helping clients make better future business decisions by providing commercial insight. Vanessa joined WGSN after seven years in brand and consumer research at Ipsos and Kantar Worldpanel working with clients like Clarks, Levi’s, L’Oreal, Kao Brands and Boots.
Jane Monnington Boddy
Womenswear & Colour
With over 20 years of industry experience in design, colour direction and trend forecasting, Jane Boddy heads WGSN’s Womenswear and Colour teams. Prior to joining WGSN, Jane was senior director of forecast at Stylesight for seven years, worked as a designer for Yves Saint Laurent, Emmanuel Ungaro, Marks and Spencer and Debenhams, as well as ran her own knitwear range, which sold at luxury stores such as Selfridges.
A seasoned creative leader with over 20 years of experience in the global design and retail industry, Lizzy oversees WGSN’s comprehensive catwalk coverage and womenswear analysis. She has worked in trend and design director positions at Nordstrom, Sears, Spiegel and Coles Myer Retail, where she was responsible for developing commercial product, specializing in women's apparel, trend, colour and product development.
Materials & Knitwear
Charlotte brings a wealth of knitwear design expertise to WGSN, having previously worked with a diverse range of brands and labels such as Winni Lok, New Look, Nicole Farhi and McQ for Alexander McQueen. With a balance of creativity and commercial relevance, she delivers for WGSN a comprehensive offer of seasonal and close-to-season knitwear trends and analysis reportage across men's and women's apparel categories.
Footwear & Accessories
Jaime brings a wealth of footwear and accessories experience to WGSN. She comes most recently from Brown Shoe Company where she was lead designer for private label brands for Kohl's, Target, and J.C. Penney. Previously, Jaime worked for Global Sales designing accessories for major fragrance and cosmetic companies such as Parlux and Coty, in addition to having her own handbag capsule collection at Henri Bendel in 2008.
Head of Department
As head of WGSN Mindset Latam, Daniela is responsible for a team of experts, who develops bespoke projects with a strong emphasis in trends, products and consumer behavior. In WGSN since 2009, she has applied her strategic vision to local and global brands including Coca cola, Puma, Basf and Nivea.
Materials & Sourcing
As senior editor for Materials & Sourcing, Sophie analyses the global textile and accessory supply market – from fibre to fabric, delivering commercial novelties and market trends from trade shows, catwalks and retail. Having been trained within the Italian fashion business and international textile manufacturing industry, Sophie brings over 20 years experience of this specific category to WGSN.
Veronica is an experienced performance sportswear specialist with over 16 years in the industry working in New Zealand, Australia and Europe for global brands including adidas and Speedo. Her career highlights include adidas London 2012 and Stella McCartney's Team GB collections. A natural aptitude for functional yet dynamic design and an expert in sport specific colour, Veronica brings her talent for sportswear innovation and vision to WGSN as senior editor.
Located in the New York office, Jaclyn brings a commercial and US perspective to WGSN's global team. As the senior editor for Womenswear, Jaclyn covers events such as New York Fashion Week, trade shows and press previews, identifying and analysing trends. Her previous experience includes design, colour and product development for companies including Target, Sears Holdings and Jones New York.
Volker joined WGSN as head of Menswear from global brand Timberland, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge of the industry across design, trend forecasting and product development. His role as senior designer included research and design for the Timberland Boot Company and mainline apparel collections for Europe and Asia.
As the head of WGSN's Kidswear team, Ellen ensures global trends, insider information and expert design are delivered for this diverse category. Well respected within the industry, she is also a key contributor to the future forecast team. Drawing on her previous experience with global brands such as The Walt Disney Company, she holds both New Designers and D&AD awards.
As director of Denim, Amy is responsible for all reporting and analysis within the global youth culture and denim markets. Her team covers multiple areas including Denim, Juniors, Young Men's, Streets & Events, as well as Music and New Media. Amy's career started in 2003 at the niche online company, oki-ni where she designed with brands such as Levi's, Lee and Evisu.
Yvonne Luk is an established editorial expert with over ten years experience in the fashion and product creation industries. She focuses her expertise on researching and filtering current and upcoming fashion, consumer, product and retail trends for the APAC region and China in particular.
Footwear & Accessories
Jacqui works on creative direction and all aspects of future trends within WGSN's Footwear and Accessories areas. With eight years’ experience in the accessories market, Jacqui has previously designed products for Nokia, Microsoft, Motorola and Puma International, as well as luggage design at Tripp for Debenhams and its collaboration with Jasper Conran.
Whilst contributing future-forward reports as part the WGSN Think Tank team, Alex works across content to bring together seasonal ForeSight and Macro Trend reports. With over eight years experience in design and trend forecasting, including her previous role as WGSN Youth Editor, Alex has a keen eye for underground trends and brings a design-lead perspective to WGSN early insight.
Retail & Buying
Sara graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fashion Styling and Photography from London College of Fashion and has worked as a photographer, for publications such as Vogue.it. As well as heading up the What’s In Store directory, Sara compiles key reports such as seasonal buyers briefings. Sara has recently spent three months in Asia, working from the WGSN’s offices in Shanghai and HK.
Cassi Bryn Michalik
City By City
Cassi oversees WGSN's City by City section, which features inspirational and informational travel content from across the globe. Cassi had previously been with Stylesight, where she successfully launched the site's travel section and became the company's first European correspondent. She is now an American living in Paris and has been with company for nine years.
Knitwear, Materials & Textiles
Helen is a knitwear and yarn expert with over 17 years' experience in design, product development and trend forecasting. A visionary for design organisations such as Peclers Paris, International Textiles Magazine and Première Vision, she also contributes creative direction for fast-fashion high-street multiples in Europe and the US, and collaborates on yarn innovation with spinning-industry leaders on a seasonal basis.
Angela is a business journalist and content strategist with more than a decade's experience tracking global retail, international business strategies and marketing communications trends. She joined WGSN in 2006 as senior editor of the Business & Strategy directory, and was pivotal in the launch of WGSN’s Marketing directory. As senior Retail editor, Angela works with a network of global contributors, as well as co-edits WGSN's fashion reports. Angela was previously deputy editor of Emap's Media & Marketing Europe magazine.
A welcome addition to the WGSN team, Katharine brings a wealth of experience in creating compelling content across platforms for diverse businesses including retailer Dorothy Perkins, B2B retailer Paul Murray plc and luxury jewellery boutique Mawi. She earned her tradeshow stripes treading the international circuit for MPD.Click where she held the positions of both trade shows and trends editor.
Analytics & Product
With over 10 years expertise in product analysis, spanning retail, trade shows and catwalks, Katie oversees WGSN's product analytics reporting of the seasons' most influential items across all product areas. Using intelligence from WGSN's INstock data tool, Katie and the team offer unparalleled commercial insight into the items driving the global markets, how and when they are hitting stores, and their shelf-life, to ensure clients make confident trading decisions.
Clare Varga is a sportswear expert with over 16 years experience in design and product creation. Her strong creative vision and in-depth understanding of the sports and active apparel market was developed during her time as creative director at Reebok Europe, and designing kits for Liverpool FC, Wales RFU, Venus Williams and the British Athletics Federation.
Theresa manages and edits WGSN’s Beauty directory, reporting on the latest global beauty trends, catwalk hair and make-up, product development, trade shows and retail news. As beauty editor, Theresa is also responsible for WGSN’s beauty forecast reports, which identify future beauty trends two years ahead of season.
Helen is the global creative lead and senior consultant that oversees content creation across the Mindset consultancy services, with a strong emphasis on product development, colour, print and pattern. Previously, Helen led the Prints & Graphics division at Stylesight where she was responsible for building accurate trend forecasts and real-time trend analysis. She has also worked in Paris and Melbourne with leading fashion brands focusing on street-wear and denim design.
