Legendary candle maker Cire Trudon has established its first permanent shop abroad near London’s Marylebone High Street.

Founded in 1643, Claude Trudon’s first shop was on Rue Saint-Honore in Paris, and the wax maker quickly became a favorite with the French royals – Napoleon is said to have given his newborn son one present: a Cire Trudon candle emblazoned with three gold busts of the emperor.  London consultants Boxco2 executed the design of the London store.   The atmosphere is definitely “old world French,” with antique wallpaper adorning the walls and Cire Trudon’s signature candles and wax busts dotted throughout the intimate shop. -Christina Mannatt
