“Warp and Weft: A Raw Denim Documentary” is released on Blu-Ray.
A lot is being made of the Denim industry right now. It seems that people are enthralled by the denimheads, enthusiasts, and characters behind this niche, yet constantly expanding business. The latest documentary venture surrounding the subject has just been released and it looks like a really interesting watch. Warp and Weft: A Raw Denim Documentary explores the world of raw denim and its key players.
One of the producers of the film, Devin Leisher, wrote a guest post on Rawr Denim just the other week outlining the film and the content’s highlights, that include interviews with SuperFuture denim enthusiasts, Levi’s Archivist Lynn Downey, SuperFuture moderator and denim lover Jimmy Crow, Gordon Heffner, owner of Blue in Green New York, Kiya Babzani from Self Edge, and Roy Slaper, founder of Roy denim… and the list goes on and on.
Devin says, “This film had many different incarnations in its existence and concept, but we knew at the root we wanted to create a film that felt as if the viewer was ‘in’ on a conversation with denimheads from all over the U.S. (and some from overseas!) The final product has more of a story than we originally anticipated, and truly has a lot to offer to both newcomers and veterans of the raw and selvage enthusiast spectrum.”
You can buy the film on Blu-Ray directly from their site, so check it out! For now, take a look at the trailer.
