From 40s fox to 60s-era Mod leopard, vintage-inspired fur coats made a major comeback on F/W 12 fashion week streets.
If a must-have item- on the streets, not the runway- of the F/W 12 fashion week season must be named, it is without a doubt the vintage-inspired fur coat. From Copenhagen to Paris, all manner of styles adorned the shoulders of the international fashion pack, from grandma-inspired 40s fox furs to long-haired monkey furs, 60s leopard and fake tufted styles à la Big Bird. Fur collars and stoles have made a comeback as well; adding panache (and, well, warmth) to winter coats and less-covered-up looks. Below, a series of our favorite styles, alongside vintage inspiration.
