Vintage e-tail Spotlight: Palette London

Vintage e-tailer Palette London popped up on our radar this week, seducing with their objects of beauty that cover a broad scope of stylistic and designer highlights from throughout the 20th century.

Lilli Ann “New Look” Jacket, late 1940s, available at Palette London Vintage.

Vintage e-tailer Palette London popped up on our radar this week, seducing with their objects of beauty that cover a broad scope of stylistic and designer highlights from throughout the 20th century.  This extensive online boutique features everything from Lilli Ann outerwear of the 40s and 50s to 60s Mod pieces by Courrèges and Pierre Cardin, and 80s masterpieces by Azzedine Alaïa, Thierry Mugler, and more.  Not married to any particular era or designer, the shop reads more like a well-informed study in fashion history, with rare pieces by the best of the best alongside anonymous yet seminal garments and accessories from the 1920s-1990s, at reasonable prices.  In addition to the vintage selection, there is also a contemporary section for emerging apparel and accessories designers, covering everyone from UK-based Ada Zanditon to French-born Marion Vidal.  What differentiates Palette London from many vintage e-tailers is the accurate historical references and profiles of the designers featured on the site, expanding  one’s horizons and knowledge while shopping- a real treat for those obsessed with knowing the meaning behind the creative madness.  How many of us knew the history of the Pastiflex patent, a material developed in the innovative WWII years, born out of strict rationing of more traditional materials?  Learn something new every day.

U.K. Delivery is free with £300 purchase and up, £500 within Europe. Below, a series of our favorite pieces currently available for sale.
