Beauty Buzz | Face Jewels Are Back

Face jewels are making a strong comeback from F/W 12 runways to it girls.

Are face jewels on the verge of a comeback? Fall 2012 runways featured a bevy of designs from the brow-dazzle at Chanel to the bindis at Miu Miu and Jeremy Scott. This month’s Oyster magazine has Anais Pouliot on the cover with a smiley face and Grimes, the new electronic it-girl, was spotted at SXSW sporting some sparkles at her show. We haven’t seen this much jewel action since the 90s when Gwen Stefani and raver girls made ironic bindi wearing cool. The Chanel brows seem like a natural next step in the temporary beauty applique movement we’ve seen recently (Dior stick-on eyeliner, Violent lip tattoos, etc). Perhaps we’ll be seeing this on the streets soon?
