Fashioning Fashion in Berlin

Opening tomorrow, Berlin’s German Historical Museum presents Fashioning Fashion: European Dress in Detail, 1700-1915, a stunning retrospective of clothing and accessories worn by some of Europe’s richest and most influential people. On loan from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, this is your only chance to ogle these opulent items before they’re shipped back to the States. Must-see pieces include a gold-embroidered dress that once belonged to a Portuguese princess and the jeweled, feathered turban of legendary designer Paul Poiret. Fashioning Fashion is divided into four distinct areas, Timeline, Textiles, Tailoring and Trim, all complementing each other in illustrating the technical and aesthetic developments in fashion history and all exquisitely inspirational. xx Ashley Churchill
