PARIS: Chez Aline

Former chef at the acclaimed Le Verre Volé, Delphine Zampetti opened this tiny sandwich shop on a whim, after walking past a horse meat butcher shop (‘Chevaline’) with a ‘For Sale’ sign in the window. She kept the shop’s signage, and named her new eatery the cheeky Chez Aline, a play on the original name. Chef Zampetti also kept the space’s signature yellow tiles, and each of the upscale sandwiches come carefully wrapped in butcher paper (of course). With only four seats at the counter and a single table out front, takeaway is your best best here. Pop by to pick up the perfect picnic, from veal cutlet sandwiches, to stuffed tomatoes and bean salad, and don’t forget dessert: Chez Aline makes a seriously killer tiramisu. xx Ashley Churchill
