Travel Futures: Tourisms

Tourisms is a new travel website, showing destinations through the eyes of local photographers.

Tourisms is a new travel website, showing destinations through the eyes of local photographers.

Created by creative platform Hard Workers Club, Tourisms offers unique snapshots of candid moments caught on camera in cities such as Kabul and Hong Kong, alongside soundtrack and reading suggestions.

A guide to Paris is likely to visit an out-of-town old gentleman’s club rather than the Marais district, for example, while Afghanistan is shown as a great destination for snowboarding.

Consumers are increasingly seeking authentic and serendipitous travel experiences. See our recent post Neighborhoods, the hyper local edition of Airbnb, and our recent photography report Filtered Reality, which shows the popularity of social media photography tools, like Instagram, as a way of documenting our everyday lives.
