NEW YORK… Yesterday’s Lacoste collection is already proving to be the forerunner to one of the week’s themes; adding sporty elements to good old American sportswear; doesn’t that make sense with the Olympics just around the corner and every New York woman known to man obsessed with diet and exercise? Lela Rose had clearly thought about these current waves when she asked herself, “How can I add a sporty theme to cocktail dressing?” In this she succeeded, sending out look after look that wove together active-inspired shapes for jackets over softly tailored separates rendered in modern synthetics that often had an iridescent shine.
