Paris Fashion Week Wrap

L to R: Lanvin, Stella McCartney, Chloe, Chanel

The sensitivity to new colors and combinations illuminated the excellent craftsmanship associated with French design during Paris Fashion Week. A pale cosmetic neutral worked well on simple shapes in highly textured fabrics; dimension was created through draping and considered tucking. Head-to-toe looks were varied with tonal greys coming together on two-piece dressing, with the newest shade being an icy tone. The combination of subtle darks like loden green along with taupe and khaki brought variation to casual sportswear. Perfect for duffel coats or woven shirts, simple items were made new. Green morphed from the turquoise of F/W 08 into a true secondary color. Brilliant emerald was woven into traditional black and white tweed on Chanel suits.
