Maiyet

CROWD SOURCED CHIC
Paris: Founded a year ago by former Band Of Outsiders president Kristy Caylor, Maiyet is the first culturally crowd-sourced label of its kind, partnering with traditional artisans in communities around the world each season. Maiyet’s latest collection centered on the work of Peruvian craftspeople and the results were anything but colloquial. Crisp white separates with tonal embroideries were modern and lovely, tempered by a feminine silhouette. The rest of the must-have lineup included full-skirted shirtdresses, easy cotton halter frocks and shine-coated linen tanks, each enhanced by subtle detailing or patterns. Creative luxury is the key phrase for Maiyet, a mandate this unusual yet innovative line fully realized for S/S 13.—Nina Stotler
