Runway Update: Lady en Déshabillé

Lingerie is showing up in ladylike looks on the Paris runways.

L to R: Balenciaga, Roland Mouret, Rochas, Nina Ricci, Carven, Devastee

Paris! After several weeks of bras, bustiers and briefs in New York, London and Milan, we’ve landed in the city for lingerie. Paris has not disappointed so far with plenty of provocative peeks of slips, straps and skin – all while maintaining the elegant, effortlessly chic ethos it is known for.

The matched set is an emerging theme, not only for ready-to-wear, but innerwear as well. Nina Ricci showed bras coordinating with skirts, Rochas presented matching blouses and  bodysuits, and Devastee offered tap-pant-and-robe sets. On the tap pant tip, Carven presented charming high-waisted, structured shorts; while Balenciaga flaunted buoyant bloomers that channel the original Spanish couturier. Taking a cue from Prada, bras and pencil skirts continued to be a hot combination, popping up at Roland Mouret and Nina Ricci.
