Paris may be the capital of chic luxury, but designers this season are rebelling against traditional notions of glamour with ultra-relaxed pajamas, robes, camis and slips borrowed from the bedroom. Which isn’t to say the clothing isn’t sumptuous – abundant amounts of fine silks are used for the very generous silhouettes, after all. However, the styling is slouchy and the attitude insouciant. Casual ensembles are either enlivened with whimsical pattern play, as seen at Dries Van Noten (left) and Haider Ackermann (third), or sensuously minimalist and cool like Vanessa Bruno (second) and Celine (right). And the must-have accessory? Fuzzy slippers. We are definitely looking forward to next spring.
