Alexis Kirk was a designer of costume jewelry and accessories. He started in the early 1970s and became highly collected by everyone from royalty to the everyday customer. His elephant themed pieces became extremely popular with Republican women in the 1980s. He received a Coty American Fashion Critics’ Award for his designs. Kirk worked until the end; his final project was an online organization and store called Dream Diamonds. As vintage costume jewelry continues to be an integral piece of contemporary fashion, his increasingly hard-to-find pieces may have some zeroes added to the price after the passing of this great designer.
