CREATIVE NEW COCKTAIL
New York: Incredibly popular among her indie fan base, Rachel Comey strikes out in a broader direction for S/S 13, incorporating upscale silk and chiffon as well as a refined series of all-white looks. In fact, it’s the designer’s more polished pieces which make an impact this season, including fitted white t-shirts, flared pencil skirts and ruffled halter dresses. Eveningwear is also newly important and cocktail frocks featuring artistically folded embellishments are a bold move, while quilted crop tops and an abstract camouflage flak-jacket should satisfy dedicated Comey devotees.—Nina Stotler
