LONDON: Mad Hatter Afternoon Tea at Sanderson

Honoring the sacred British tradition of Afternoon Tea, Sanderson is one of many London hotels offering the popular mid-afternoon treat.

Honoring the sacred British tradition of Afternoon Tea, Sanderson is one of many London hotels offering the popular mid-afternoon treat. Putting a creative spin to this classic ritual, the luxury hotel introduced the Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter Afternoon Tea in 2010. A now constant feature of the upscale hotel menu, the Mad Hatter Afternoon Tea is constantly evolving with an ever-changing menu featuring an array of creative collaborations and sweet afternoon delights. The most recent venture is the collaboration with creative London collective Luna & Curious, offering a carnival-inspired Alice in Wonderland theme featuring a delightful mix of British finger sandwiches, scones and cakes. Eclectic touches include the vintage book menu, the king and queen teapots, animal plates and perhaps most exciting; the Jelly Wonderland, featuring a selection of Victorian-inspired jelly, beautifully presented on a Philippe Starck trolley. Served in the Sanderson’s outdoor courtyard, this truly is a quintessential British experience. – Anna Jacobsen
