After the runway show madness from Wednesday, we took time off to explore some of New York’s more untapped areas for a little inspiration. The newly opened hip Brooklyn boutique Smith + Butler was our go-to stop and we were super excited to hear that Levi’s® just debuted their Made & Crafted S/S 12 collection at the Carroll Gardens haunt.

The denim megabrand’s premium capsule shares Smith + Butler’s taste for 20th-century Americana, so the 250-foot pop-up fits right into its new home and has plenty of product on offer. Woven shirts, T-shirts, jackets, and denim (of course) all have the look and feel of quality workwear, but come in modern materials and fabrics, as well as slimmer cuts. The collection goes as far back in time as the workday “blue jean” trouser of the early 1900s, and as near as the San Francisco prep of Steve McQueen’s slim-shape style in Bullitt—you can still rock a vintage vibe without looking like you were just unfrozen in time (always a good thing). This pop-up will be sticking around through the end of the season, so you’ll have plenty of time to shop (and re-shop) this cool collection. Of course, the best selects are always gone first, so we suggest hopping on the F train ASAP.
