Do you know how to use makeup to make the most of your facial appearance? In this clip from 1938, Jane Barries, the Beauty Editor of Woman’s Fair Magazine gives makeovers by adding eyebrows, eyeshadow and lipstick.

Some tips:
Extend brows slightly and shape to provide a pleasing and artistic frame for the liquid orbs. A subtle touch of eyeshadow completes the picture.

For those over 45:
Gray hair should be an asset instead of a liability. It’s all a matter of suitable dressing.

For those who wear glasses:
Be sure that dark frames don’t look too severe. They should be as unobtrusive as possible and the accent on the mouth to distract attention from them.
