Naked & Famous held a selvedge denim origami event at Liberty of London, featuring owner and designer Brandon Svarc creating animals from 15 Oz. raw, selvedge denim.
Last Saturday, denim brand Naked and Famous teamed up with Liberty London for their latest Selvedge Denim Origami event. The Denim Team headed down to meet Brandon and check out his Japanese creations.
After turning heads (and noses?) with the introduction of its Scratch-n-Sniff Raspberry Scented Denim, Naked & Famous continued to amaze with their latest unorthodox use of denim – selvedge origami. Personally constructed by Naked & Famous owner and designer Brandon Svarc as part of his touring event, Brandon was on hand to create a variety of origami animals from 15 oz. raw, selvedge denim – including dogs, pigs, cranes, samurai kabuto, water bombs, monkeys and more. Brandon also showed off his juggling skills using the Japanese candy on offer.
We also took a look at the latest spring deliveries and some of Brandon’s newest innovations, including the Scratch-n-Sniff Raspberry Scented Denim, Cashmere Stretch jeans, the N&F x Oni Japan collaboration and their debut shirt collection of “Prison Chic” stripes and Native American-inspired patterns. We finally got to try Brandon’s denim superlative, the 32 oz. jean. While not the easiest jean to walk in (in its rawest form), you have to admire the insane concept of it and marvel at the Japanese production skill that went into making the heaviest jean in world.
