Visvim S/S 13 “Dissertation on Symbolism and our Prayer flag” Lookbook

Hiroki Nakamura presents his latest collection of indigo-heavy garments titled “Disertation on Symbolism and our Prayer flag.” Following tradition of visvim’s previous releases, the S/S 13 collection is rooted in the brands oriental take on American folklore, delivering a plethora of rich textures, ornate details and rustic embroideries.

No strangers to inventive and inspirational takes on denim, the latest from visvim will offer fans a detailed look at Hiroki Nakamura’s hybrid heritage designs. For the S/S 13 outing, Hiroki explores his familiar territory of Japanese heritage, using traditional uniforms of Japan’s blue-collar working class combined with a diverse range of ethnic influences (flags and symbols of several nations are noted throughout, including those of Ghana and  the United Nations) to create a collection of modern yet classically contemporary garments. These wide-ranging appear through authentic items like chore coats, shawl collar jackets, noragi’s and delicately embroidered kimonos. An assortment of cotton twill, plaid and chambray separates are layered throughout the lookbook offering pops of color and pattern to go with the season’s beautiful range of indigo hues.

visvim’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection is available now from the label’s recently-launched webshop and at select stockists worldwide.
