From Manhattan to Milan, London to Australia, the after-hours shopping extravaganza Fashion’s Night Out is back for the third year in a row. Celebrities, designers and stars will perform and mingle with shoppers as they take part in FNO-exclusive events and snap up special designs. To stop you from making any rash party fouls, we went through hundreds of emails and blogs to pick out the funnest, glammest, and most noteworthy denim happenings that you shouldn’t dare miss.
For Fashion’s Night Out, Acne would like to request the pleasure of your company for a special preview of their Resort S/S 12 collection. Victoria Smith (famous drummer who has worked with the likes of MIA) will perform outside the ground floor of the store and waiters curated by Michelle Jank will serve Absolut Vodka cocktails. There will be music on the 2nd floor from DJ Misty Rabbit (AKA MIMI XU) – she has previously DJ’d for Fendi, Miu Miu, Prada and Versace. NY shoppers can stop by at the store for a free ACNE paper.
At Levi’s, there will be a champagne bar and Levi’s Curve ID specialists on hand to measure women and determine their Curve ID to find the perfect fitting jeans. There will also be 20% discount on all Curve ID purchases on the night.
From 6pm Chanel will be hosting a beauty event with Sophy Robson and her team offering a file and paint on nails using the new denim-inspired colors that Peter Philips created especially for the event, Les Jeans de Chanel.
GAP is re-creating their denim design studio in their Regent St. store and creating a real West Coast American feel. They are doing a styling/photography area to offer customers the opportunity to be shot in their new 1969 denim collection; styled by Jaime Perlman and shot by Tom Giddings to be posted on their Facebook page the next day.
In Selfridges, Paige denim created an exclusive snakeskin wash for VFNO and WAH Nails will be in store to do matching snakeskin manicures. J Brand also created an exclusive hot pink style for VFNO. For the guys, Tiger of Sweden menswear will be hosting live DJ sets from Howlin’ Pelle from The Hives, free drinks and a rare opportunity to enjoy a no-added-charge Made-to-Measure service on all Tiger of Sweden suiting to celebrate the brand’s exclusive U.K. launch.
In New York, we would definitely recommend stopping by the 3X1 Made Herestore by Scott Morrison. Exclusively for Fashion’s Night Out, 3×1 has created 3×1 Selvedge Denim iPhone Covers to sell for $15 in assorted denims and colors with 100% of the profits going to the 9/11 memorial. That evening, they’ll be playing music in the store and holding a raffle for a Custom Made jean … you can either make a donation to the charity or purchase a 3×1 item on that day to enter.
BLK DNM NYC will be re-opening their Lafayette store as the permanent home of Johan Lindeberg’s new venture. There will be a launch of unique creative additions to the space as well as cocktails and live DJ set from special guest.
If thats not enough then join Diesel for an evening on the Diesel Island, where NYLON TV will be broadcasting live with a special guest. When you leave the island, don’t forget to pick up your complimentary passport cover and a fresh pic from their interactive photo booth.
