We added another exciting chapter to our global denim journey this week when we stopped off at the NYC presentation of North Carolina-based brand, Raleigh Denim.
Hosted by husband-and-wife design duo Sarah and Victor Lytvinenko, the Raleigh Denim Fall/Winter 2012 presentation showcased the latest collection of the brand’s American craftsmanship. The artisan denim brand has grown into a complete line of Men’s and Women’s jeans and separates; this season they presented 14 mixed looks that were simply styled with meticulous detail.
Men’s looks took on a smartened hardware store clerk appeal, with rugged ticking stripe workshirts, carpenter pants and utility vests. The Women’s line boasted a borrowed-from-the-boys sensibility with cropped takes on Raleigh’s signature non-automated selvedge pants and pleated shirts styled with denim bow-ties and fitted leather belts. Sarah also sneaked in a few coated denims for the women, bringing a more refined appeal to the collection. Alongside their trademark indigo, the outfits teamed up with classic leather jackets, natural indigo-dyed dresses and cotton shirts in check and polka-dot to complete the collection.
