While we were busying ourselves over in New York last week, Rag & Bone was swapping cities with us and opening a much anticipated store over in London!
The guys behind the Rag & Bone brand are actually originally from London, but opened their business out in America in 2002, so it made sense to finally invest in a stand-alone back in their hometown. Founders David Neville and Marcus Wainwright decided on Sloane Square in Chelsea for the location, which covers 2,000 feet spread over two floors, featuring exposed brick walls and a staircase made from a reclaimed railway platform.
It resonates perfectly with the brand’s other recently opened store in New York and rumor has it, it’s set to be the location of their London Spring/Summer 13 presentation.
Managing partner David Neville said:
“Rag & Bone is essentially a New York brand but our collections have always been influenced by our British roots, so it made total sense for us to open our first European flagship store in our hometown. London has always been a very exciting place in the fashion industry, now more so than ever.”
And to celebrate the new store, they unveiled the brand’s first print ad campaign, which features Brit It-girl Kate Moss captured by photographer Craig McDean. The shoot features the backdrop of Kentish Town, North London in the background.
“It felt fitting to shoot our first ever collection campaign in London, especially as we are opening a store there this month.”
Rag & Bone’s full range of womenswear, menswear, denim and accessories is available at the store, which officially opened on July 25, 2012.
