We continue our exclusive New York content today with a visit to Levi’s concept store in the Meatpacking District.
Last night, we had the opportunity to attend an exclusive evening at the infamous Levi’s 414 concept store in New York City’s Meatpacking District. Inspired by America’s rich heritage, the 4,500 square-foot store is the ultimate expression of the Levi’s® brand, complete with an in-store historian, denim bar and a newly introduced tailor shop. Unlike standard Levi’s stores, the 414 concept store focuses purely on the ideals of stocking Levi’s items with real narrative, passion, quality and detail – with re-issues dating as far back as 1890. This includes the history-obsessed premium lines Levi’s Vintage Clothing and Levi’s Made & Crafted as well as a selection of finely curated vintage pieces to complement and elevate the collection. The MADE HERE collection also plays a major role in the stores authenticity and artisanship. You can find everything from handmade beaded leather moccasins by Carol Lindhorse, to intricately netted beach stone necklaces by Tim Whitten.
Likewise, the stores interior is a physical manifestation of Americana and denim culture with themes ranging from turn of the century workwear to preppy college and rockabilly looks. The store’s design features speak directly to denim enthusiasts’ soft spots, using reclaimed and natural elements to create a vintage-inspired feel. From old navajo blankets and re-used factory parts to iconic Levi’s imagery and miniture Levi’s dolls, all in-store elements blend to create authentic design details. Perhaps the most unique element to the space is the working tailor station and the wide range of services they offer including an on-site tailor for custom denim doctor-ing and repairs.
If you happen to be in the Big Apple, we really recommend a trip to the store to experience the full Levi’s lifestyle for yourself.
