MILITARY DRAFT
Milan: Armed with flap pockets and plenty of olive drab, Ennio Capasa presented military-inspired looks for C’N’C Costume National’s spring collection. Angular lines and edgy leathers made it familiar for followers of the label. Sheers provided a seductive element, allowing triangle bras to show through, but there was enough coverage to keep it from becoming overly sexy. The designer’s more successful looks were made from sturdier fabrics, such as crisp suitings or leather; the satins had a tendency to look sloppy. Though military themes are well-trod ground, Capasa used his signature sharp cuts to make the inspiration his own. –Joanna Manganaro
