This lingerie-lounge-swim lifestyle label captures an effortless downtown cool.

In our travels around the globe this summer for the Spring/Summer 2013 intimates and swim trade shows, we discovered several standout collections from both emerging and established brands. We will be profiling these noteworthy names in the next few weeks and providing an exclusive sneak peek into their new collections.

Doing what?
One of the brands we were most excited to see at Mode City, the label formerly known as brought a little street cred to the trade show with their modern, effortless lounge and swimwear collections. Standing for Basic Aesthetic for Sustainable Easywear, BASE range is a lifestyle brand that captures that elusive looking-cool-without-trying downtown attitude – all with clean, neutral-colored, organic knits. Now, hip gals can bring that same swagger to the swimming pool with deceptively simple maillots and bikinis that are actually carefully crafted out of intricate seams, sueded tricots and expertly distressed dyes.

Where to find them:
Surface to Air / La Garconne / Mohawk General Store / Assembly New York / Anaise
