Makeup

“We’re doing a very futuristic girl, like how girls would look in the real future. The skin is built, so all the portions of the face are worked on but there isn’t color. We’re perfecting what they have. We start with Prep and Prime Skin Brightening Serum; under the moisturizer it adds a really nice texture. Then we use the skin smoother; it fills in imperfections and gives this sort of retouched, diffused look. On top of that we’re using the Beauty Balm crèmes, which are multidimensional products, they’re antibacterial, they have SPF, they moisturize, and they can be used as a sheer foundation. Then we’re adding a bit of color to the eyelid with the pinky or peachy concealers, depending on the girls’ skin tone. Under the cheekbone we’re putting a little bit of the sculpting crème in coffee walnut to create a shadow. As a highlighter we’re using Color Accentuate above the cheekbone, which doesn’t reflect but shines. Then we’re taking the lip down with Lip Erase and then on top we’re using the new lip palette Au Naturale. It’s a beige lip but it has some tone to it so they don’t look dead. We’re curling the lashes but we aren’t using mascara and then clear brow set on the brows. I think this look is really translatable, even without mascara. I think girls get stuck on the idea that they can’t leave the house without it but some looks just look better without mascara.

For fall skin care is really in, really beautiful skin. For people who don’t have perfect skin you can tone then moisturize the skin, serums are also really good because they activate the skin. Using vitamin creams can help with things like discoloration.” – James Kaliardos for MAC

Hair

“We’re doing a middle part and then we create a headband with the hair of the model. So we flat iron the hair and blow-dry it really straight with Ciment Thermique. Then we put an elastic under the hair to create a veil in the back. You have two different looks from the front to the back. It is super pure like a painting with a human alien spirit. We finish with hairspray.” – Odile Gilbert for Kèrastase

Nails

“Today is all about beautiful, clean, chic nails. They wanted to do a shorter nude nail because it is more sophisticated. We are doing one coat of Jin Soon Tulle because two coats would be too creamy and white. Then the key is two coats of Jin Soon Top Gloss because they want a super high gloss.” – Jin Soon Choi for Jin Soon
