“The look this season is really basic. We moisturize the face and cover up any redness with some concealer, then I paints on the war stripe. That’s really a stand-out look. It’s a lab-based sample so it’s not an actual Shiseido product. Then for the eyes, we pump up the brows but in a natural way. We’re mixing some cream shadows to create that custom color. We’re keeping the natural shape of the eyebrows. We’re using a Shiseido shimmering eye cream in Sable, or in a darker shade depending on the skin tone. The idea for the look came from a Quentin Tarantino film called Battle Royale. It’s kind of like an older Hunger Games.

The real detail is the stripe. The skin is matte, but in a natural way. It’s not like heavily done. For the lip, I don’t want to make it look like anything really happened other than just that dash.”  – Dick Page

“The inspiration is from the Japanese movie, Battle Royale and from The Lord of the Flies. It’s about tension more than migration. We are expressing that tension with the hair, with the texture. We basically make it untamed, but with a direction. It’s a mixture of products. Some products are more aggressive. This is a mix of products that we use from Aveda. One is for volume, and one is more for fluff. For the bun, it looks like we’ve done a braid and relaxed the braid. It’s matte. With this product I really like to have it flat, no pins.” – Didier Malige

“I’ve created a really gorgeous buffed nail. He wanted it to be very minimalist, like the girls just got out of bed looking beautiful. They’ve got gorgeous natural skin, gorgeous hair, gorgeous makeup, everything is very soft and beautiful and effortless. Obviously at Fashion Week, we don’t really buff the nails so much because they’re having their nails buffed five times a day, everyday for a month.  This is why I use our nail foundation as our base coat. It conceals any little infections in the nail bed and those white marks. Then we touch it off with a matte top coat to make it even more matte, to look like its been buffed and there’s nothing there.” – Katie Hughes
