Art & Design: KK Outlet Art Relay show

KK Outlet in London is hosting a collaborative art project, in which creatives from around the world are contributing to a piece of artwork in the style of a relay race.

With the Opening Ceremony only a day away, we’re well and truly in the Olympic spirit here in the London office, and we’re not the only ones:  Communications agency, KK Outlet is hosting a collaborative “relay-style” project, in which a slew of creatives from around the world are contributing to a piece of artwork.

Working in teams of four, each artist has started a piece of work, which is then being passed on (like a baton) to the next team member for their creative contribution.  Once all four artists have added their marks to the piece, it will be sent to the KK Outlet HQ in East London, and later presented in the Art Relay exhibition throughout August.

Works take inspiration from the sporting games, sometimes referencing darker themes, such as drug taking and big-brother surveillance, using mediums of photography, graphics, video and sculpture.

Contributors range from designers and musicians, to writers and artists, including James Bridle, Joost Jansen, Max Lamb and music collective Dollop.  Check the project out here. – Samantha Fox
