Tonight, Dalston Roof Park in East London is playing host to It’s Nice To Meet You – An evening of conversation and inspiring merriment from the team behind online culture magazine Art Wednesday.

The TED-like affair is the first in a short series of live, summer events up on the roof, and this evening’s proceedings will feature an informal talk with art-duo Hellicar & Lewis (recently featured on the blog for their Hello Cube installation at the Tate Modern earlier this year), as well as an intimate performance by enigmatic singer/songwriter Gabriel Bruce.

“These delicate, immersive events, with the most expansive and progressive people on the planet are the first in a series of live opportunities for the Art Wednesday community to come together, discuss and exchange the very visions, ambitions and opinions that make you the people we want to attend,” explain the Art Wednesday team on their site.

We’ve featured the brilliant Dalston Roof Park – a former printing mill – and it’s creators the Bootstrap Company many times on the site before, more recently with the brilliant Long Table – a nighttime food market and event space, which occupied a former World War II bunker in central Dalston over the Christmas period.  You can read more about Dalston Roof Park here.

A limited number of tickets remain for this evening, but keep watching the Art Wednesday site for further dates added throughout the summer. - Samantha Fox
