METROPOLITAN MARITIME New York: Andrea Lieberman’s A.L.C. grew out of her retail and styling background, and as a result is seasonally rooted in the contemporary essentials that continue to factor so centrally in her urban clients’ wardrobes. For C/R 13, Liberman set sail upon a “3-hour tour” that sacrificed no polish for portside inspiration. With a palette firmly rooted in nautical classics —navy, white, cardinal red, canary yellow, and black— the collection updated the proportions of Eastern Shore staples. Boyish charm could be found in the anchor motif intarsia of a crew neck sweater, while a flirty, flared mini countered with just the right note of youthful femininity. —Kibwe Chase-Marshall
